The project ZUKUNFT SÄEN! promotes the ecological horticulture working without GMO’s in harmony with humans and nature. The initiative is organised once a year by the Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l. Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled this year due to the current circumstances.
In order to prevent the event from being cancelled completely, Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l. and Oiko-Bakhaus came up with a special idea: The wheat that had been sowed at the participating farm last year, was partly used as flour in the ZUKUNFTSBROT 2020 (bread of the future). The sesame bread was sold in the NATURATA Bio-Marchés.
NATURATA donates 10% of the total turnover to the association. After cashing up, the total amount reached 1500€ and was handed over with a symbolic cheque on the14th of December at the Bakhaus in Munsbach. The Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Letzebuerg a.s.b.l. is donating the money to the seed cultivator Peter Kunz, who supports the ecological breeding of cereals and thus maintains the sovereignty of the seeds. Consequently, the cycle is closed and the seeds are guaranteed for the following year. We want to thank each sponsor and client for supporting the project by buying the Zukunftsbrot 2020.
Usually, motivated sowers are sewing an acre field together at one of the member farms of Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l.. Last year, the initiative took place at the organic farm „An Néckels” of family Hamen in Drauffelt.
